1 Casterton 40, Sunday June 6th 12.30 pm start seniors (Vic Time) Juniors racing beforehand.
The Casterton 40 is an event worth doing, one of the toughest events in the SouthWest Series.

Frank Long & Hamilton to Port Fairy

The 60th "Frank Long"
The 60th running of the Frank Long was held on May 2nd 2010 at Hamilton.
57 riders started the 37km cycling road race with limit getting a 15 minute start on scratch.
Tim Dwyer from Mount gambier took line honours just ahead of Erich Gstrien from Camperdown. followed by John Cranwell mtg.3rd, Kathy Angus Mtg. 4th, Col Angus Mtg. 5th, Allan Barnett Stawell great western 6th, Roger Lewis hamilton 7th, Mark hermon Ham. 8th, David herrewyn Mtg. 9th & Mick Lowther Ptf. 10th.
Brendon Schultz from Hamilton took fastest time.
The event was followed by a well attended 60th anniversary of The "Frank Long" Memorial cycling Road race.
The Night was hosted by Wal Smith and the Guest speaker for the evening was Clide Sefton a successfull road cyclist who has won gold at Commonwealth Games & silver at Olympic games and who spent 7 years as a proffesional cyclist.
The 29th"Doug Pettingil Memorial" Hamilton to Port Fairy
46 riders started the 80km Hamilton to Port Fairy road race hosted by the Port Fairy Cycling Club.
The handicapper divided the field into 6 bunches and 1 lone rider Brendon Schultz on Scratch who was cashing 30 seconds to a bunch of 6 on block. Limit had a 25 minute start on scratch.
the middle markers or the 7 minute bunch were the big movers on the day, riding through the front markers and holding off the fast chasing back markers.
Paul Nolte ptl. took a well earnt 1st place followed by Roland Evans ptl. 2nd, Craig Taylor ptf. 3rd, Stuart Robinson ham. 4th, Dean Mclaren ham 5th, Melissa McKinlay Mtg. 6th darrel earl Mtg. 7th, Simon Povey ham 8th, Phil Otoole ptf. 9th, & Geoff Mclaren wrn 10th.
Fastest time went to Dylan Hately from Camperdown who rode off second scratch.
The Next Event in the Banks Thargo South West Series will be the Casterton 40 hosted by Hamilton on Sunday June the 6th.
