Hi to all Bansk Thargo South West Series Competitors and interested parties.
This points update does not include the Gorae West (WET!) results, they will be included shortly.
This years event has been a secret points event , a bit like the brownlow medal;.)
The current top ten is a bit of a surprise to me, and it sets up the final events to be a bit of a show down. with 2 on equal first watch this space.

Race 3 "Doug Pettingill" Hamilton to Port fairy
In warm blustery conditions the 31st Doug Pettingill road race was held. There were 56 senior riders and 25 junior riders. The day started with 30km northerlies which were perfect tail wind conditions. As the day progressed and the riders got close to the finish the wind changed to North Easterlies which made for side winds. This made the race more difficult and strung out some of the bunches.
The front markers were able to hold off the middle and back markers.
1st Cam Hart, 2nd Niel Duncan, 3rd Aaron Bingham, 4th Stuart Robinson, 5th Simon Povey, 6th Kate Winnen, 7th Shannon Malseed, 8th Spek, 9th Michael Bently, 10th Daniel Lehman.
Fastest Time went to kieron Schnieder. Kieron was riding on block so that second scratch rode exceptionally well on the day.
The points table is starting to take shape now for the 2012 Banks Thargo South West Series, three scratchmen hold the top three positions followed by several regular feature riders that are regular competitors in this series of road races.
The Next event in the South West series is the Soldiers Memorial hosted by the Mount Gambier Club and the Mount gambier R.S.L.
