"Camperdown Cup"

The 2010 South West Series came to an end on Saturday the 18th of September, the Final event being the Camperdown Cup.

The Camperdown cup, an ideal event to wind up the Banks Thargo south West Series, was held in trying conditions, with strong winds and heavy showers throughout the event.
The Camperdown Cycling Club provided competitors with an excellent course, at just over 60km with a challenging up-hill up hill finish.
While most of the bunches combined well, the wind and undulating course took its toll.
At one stage a reasonable sized bunch of around 15 riders formed, second & third limit, this group looked to have things in hand until the king of the mountain sprint where this bunch splintered and lost far too many riders to hold of the back markers.
The scratchmen were able to pick up all the front markers before the final climb, even though they had lost David Tozer with a puncture.
Dylan Hatley was able to reach the finish line first to pick up first and fastest time with Simon Walsh coming over the line in second place.
Darcy Woolley from second scratch showed he is a future scratch rider by picking up 3rd place.
